Refreshing Your Business Plan for Q2

As the second quarter of the year begins, now’s the perfect time to take a fresh look at your business plan and make adjustments to ensure you’re on track to meet your goals.

If you’re a new entrepreneur, a well-thought-out business plan is essential for guiding your business towards success. If you’re a seasoned business owner, don’t ignore your business plan – take another look to remind yourself where you started and then refresh it to get to where you want to be.

Here are some tips for revamping your business plan this April – pick one or more, do the work, and watch your business bloom anew! So many of these ideas dovetail with topics from April’s book ‘Bedside Business Plan’, so if you’ve got the book, make sure you fill out the highlighted pages! Review Your Goals
Start by reviewing the goals you set for your business at the beginning of the year (you did do that, right?). Are they still relevant? Are they realistic? Update Your Financial Projections
Your financial projections are a key component of your business plan, so it’s important to keep them up-to-date. Has your spending been on-target, or have you over/under-spent in a category? Why?

The business landscape is constantly evolving, so it’s important to stay informed about current market conditions and trends. You might notice something that’s small right now, but turns out to have a big impact down the road!

Refine Your Marketing Strategy

Experiment with new strategies and tactics to see what resonates with your target audience. Don’t keep doing the same old thing and expect different results…you know what they say about that!
