Resources and Networks for Mompreneurs
People networking at a conference for SHG's blog post "Resources and Networks for Mompreneurs"

As a mompreneur, you already know that the month of May brings its own unique set of opportunities and challenges. Between Mother’s Day celebrations, wrapping up the school year, and prepping for summer break, your already packed schedule gets thrown into overdrive.

But you don’t have to go it alone! There are so many amazing resources, networks, and communities out there designed to empower and support women in business – especially entrepreneurial mamas juggling it all. This May, tap into the following valuable systems to help you thrive.

Empowerment Organizations

On those days when imposter syndrome strikes hard, it’s crucial to feel the power of an uplifting, empowering movement behind you. Look into joining respected national organizations for women entrepreneurs like:

The National Association of Women Business Owners has a powerful “power circle” initiative that facilitates peer mentorship. Their events, webinars and corporate partner discounts are next level.

Ladies Who Launch provides invaluable training, funding opportunities, and consulting through their Incubator program for early-stage women entrepreneurs. Fun fact – their founder is a mom who launched the company from her basement!

Accelerators & Business Competitions

What better way to supercharge your mompreneur hustle than scoring funding or consulting from a respected accelerator program? While competitive, these opportunities are game-changing for launching entrepreneurial mamas to the next level:

The Tory Burch Fellows Program provides low-cost loans, mentoring, education, and a powerful sisterhood network for ambitious women business owners. Bonus – it culminates in a fierce pitch competition to fight for additional funding.

For Latina mompreneurs, check out the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative, which has a great startup accelerator track and annual ELIZE business plan competition.

Fellowships & Grants

When you’re a mom building an empire, every little bit of capital and know-how counts. Luckily there are orgs dishing out financial grants and fellowships to give mompreneurs like you an extra boost:

Cartier (yes, that Cartier) supports mompreneurs via the Cartier Women’s Initiative, driving change by empowering women impact entrepreneurs (like you!) The 2024 cohort looks amazing – just like all of you in our community – so prep now to get yourself ready to apply for the 2025 cohort!

WomensNet runs the Amber Grant, providing up to $25,000 for women in business. The deadline is at the end of May, so if you’re interested, apply soon!

The Mama Ladder offers the High Five Grant for Moms, the world’s longest-running business grant program for mompreneurs. The 2024 process hasn’t started yet, so keep an eye for it to go live!

So mother CEOs, hear this: you’ve absolutely got a powerful, empowered tribe in your corner this May and beyond! Take advantage of these invaluable resources, networks, and opportunities to gain momentum in that unstoppable entrepreneurial journey. With the right support system, you can crush both motherhood and business ownership with courage and confidence. Get out there and thrive!
